While visiting assessments.bestinstruments.net, there are three types of Users referred to: Facilitator, Participant, and Solo Participant. They are each defined as follows:

  • Facilitator – Users who are able to purchase and assign assessments to themselves or others.
  • Participant – Users who are created by a Facilitator and assigned an assessment by a Facilitator.
  • Solo Participant – Users who are able to purchase assessments for the sole purpose of individual use.

While utilizing our Application, we will not collect any personal information about you or, where applicable, your associated Participants unless you choose to provide that information to us. Personal Data may be freely provided by the User, or, in the case of a Participant, collected automatically when provided by the associated Facilitator while using this Application. If you choose to provide this information, it will be used for the express purpose for which it was intended, such as participating in an online assessment, survey, or questionnaire. Participant assessment results may be shared with the employer purchaser of the assessment (the Facilitator), as well as the Participant.

We remind you that if you visit a link outside of assessments.bestinstruments.net, BEST Instruments is not responsible for the privacy or security of that site. Users are responsible for any third-party Personal Data obtained, published or shared through this Application and confirm that they have the third party's consent to provide the Data to the Owner.

Information Collected and Stored

BEST Instruments does not collect your personal information except when you knowingly provide such information as the result of the use of one or more of the features of this Application. The information provided to us for the sole purpose of participating in an online assessment is encoded for security purposes, and is not made available to any third party for any means. We do not sell, rent, or supply internet usage statistics that identify individual clients to any third party.

Unless otherwise stated, all Data requested by assessment.bestinstruments.net is necessary and failure to provide this Data could make it impossible for this Application to provide its full Service. In cases where this Application specifically states that certain Data is not required, Users may withhold this Data without sacrifice to the functionality of the Service. As each Facilitator and/or Solo Participant purchases and/or completes an online assessment, we collect and store the following information:

Location of Data Storage

The Data is processed at the Owner’s operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. Depending on the User’s location, data transfers may involve transferring the User’s Data to a country other than their own. BEST Instruments resides in the United States and therefore is the location of the data storage.

Data Retention

Personal Data shall be processed and stored for as long as required for the purposes they have been collected for.

Therefore:

  • Personal Data collected for purposes related to the performance of a contract between the Owner and the User shall be retained until such contract has been fully performed.
  • Personal Data collected for the purposes of the Owner’s legitimate interests shall be retained as long as needed to fulfill such purposes. Users may find specific information regarding the legitimate interests pursued by the Owner by contacting the Owner.

The Owner may be allowed to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever the User has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. Furthermore, the Owner may be obliged to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever required to do so for the performance of a legal obligation or upon order of an authority.

Once the retention period expires, Personal Data shall be deleted. Therefore, the right to access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification and the right to data portability cannot be enforced after expiration of the retention period.

BEST Instruments takes a number of steps to protect against unauthorized access to, and disclosure of, individually identifiable information.
